Alekseeva Alexandra

1879 — 1958

Alexandra Vassilyevna Alekseeva was born in St. Petersburg in a noble family, graduated from gymnasium, but she received her art education from private teachers. She lived all her life in the family of her sister Elizaveta Vassilyevna Pluss, whose husband served in the military hospital in the Tsarist Army, and later in the Red Army. During the First World War, Alexandra worked as a nurse in a hospital. After the revolution, she became fascinated by the drawing, but she never became a professional artist. Nevertheless, she left behind herself several albums of drawings reflecting the life of the 1920s, as well as a small series of graphics about animals and travel.
