Irina Kolmogortseva Konstantinovna is People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after G. Tukai, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, laureate of the prize in the field of fine art and art criticism named after B. Urmanche. I.K. Kolmogortseva was born on July 5, 1930 in Sverdlovsk. After graduating in 1955 from the Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute named after I. Fedorova joined the Tatar Book Publishing House as a freelance artist. Since 1957 she lived in Kazan. In 1960 she was admitted to the Union of Artists of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. The artworks of I.K. Kolmogortseva are distinguished by high professionalism, a vivid individual manner, decorativeness and a subtle interpretation of folk art. Her works made a great contribution to the development of graphic art in the Republic of Tatarstan.
