Efimov Omar

Omar Efimov (1932 — 2004) was born in Dagestan in Kumuh settlement. In 1950s he studied in Art Colleges in Krasnodar and Tzhinvali. In 1967 he graduated from Leningrad Vera Muchina Higher School of Art and Design. After graduation he moved to Moscow and worked as landscapist and portraitist, later – as a monumental artist. In 1967 – 1971 Omar Efimov taught in Dagestan Art School named after M. Jemal in Makhachkala. In 1972 Omar Efimov joined Union of Artists of the USSR. People’s Artist of Dagestan.

Artworks by Omar Efimov are represented in the collections of Dagestan Museum of Fine Arts named after P.S. Gamzatova, Dagestan United Historical and Architectural Museum, Art Fund of the Union of Artists of Dagestan, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
