Харченко Владимир

Vladimir Kharchenko is a master of urban and industrial landscape. Numerous postcards and posters have been issued according to his drawings and watercolors. Born in Ukraine, he graduated from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. After graduation he was admitted in 1957 to the studio of Elia Belyutin at the City Committee of Book and Graphic Artists. He took an active part in almost all Moscow, republican and all-Union exhibitions. The artist's works dedicated to railway transport were exhibited in Poland, France, Spain, Finland.

From 1959 to 1992, there were seven personal exhibitions in Moscow, and in 1977 - a personal exhibition in Warsaw "We are building BAM". Also, a personal exhibition was organized on the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 80th anniversary of the artist. Vladimir Kharchenko participated in the publication and design of the books “The Road to the Ocean”, “The Artery of Life”, “The Land of Five Suns”, the author of a series of postcards “BAM - All-Union Construction”, Laureate of the VI-th All-Russian Competition. For his services in promoting the work of railway workers and transport builders, Vladimir Kharchenko was awarded the medal "For the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline" and the medal of the Ministry of Culture "For active participation in the cultural life of the BAM builders". The graphic works of V. P. Kharchenko are represented in the Museum of Reconstruction of Moscow, the Museum of the Revolution and the Museum of A. S. Pushkin, in the storerooms of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Union of Artists of Russia.
