Korsakova Maria

Maria Korsakova was born in Moscow in 1936. She graduated from Moscow College of Industrial and Applied Arts named after M. I. Kalinin (now part of Stroganov Academy). Later she was working as decorator in pioneer camps.

Maria Korsakova travelled to the North of Russia and reflected amazing beauty of these places in her sketches. Besides landscapes the artist tried to express herself in different styles, including still life. She has her special and unique vision of casual things, her artworks are full of vivid colors and light. Maria Korsakova is also passionate about making incredible wooden works with mezen painting (Russian folk handcrafts to decorate household items). She paints on wooden ladles, bringing new life to these forgotten everyday things and creating unusual interior items.
