Pobedinsky Alexander

1904 – 1979

Soviet industrial graphic artist, designer. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The artist of commercial advertising, illustrator and designer of books, magazines. He studied at the VHUTEIN (1926 – 1929), later at the Moscow Textile Institute (1929 – 1931). In the 1930s, he worked in the All-Union Chamber of Commerce, participated in the design of foreign exhibitions (Budapest, Leipzig), performed foreign trade posters. A. N. Pobedinsky is a winner of many awards in the field of commercial advertising. From 1935 he created illustrations for the magazines "A Leader", "The Inventor", "Pioneer"; designed brochures and catalogs; performed a series of political posters. Winner of advertising posters competitions. From 1936 the artist collaborated with the magazine "Technology for Youth", where in 1957 he became a member of the editorial board.

In the 1950s – 1970s, Pobedinsky worked at the Center for International Exhibitions. He created projects of art and industrial exhibitions of the USSR abroad, panels and posters for these exhibitions: in Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Brussels, Vienna, Lyon, Milan, Montreal, Prague, Paris, Tunisia, Utrecht and others. Alexander Pobedinsky illustrated many books and participated in the publication of the Children's Encyclopedia.
