Shelimova Alla

Alla Shelimova is a scenic designer and a graphic artist. She graduated from the School-Studio named after V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko, the department of scenic designers created by Valery Levental, and also from the theater department of the Moscow Academic Art College in memory of the riot of 1905. She is a member of UNESCO International Federation of Artists and a member of Moscow Regional Union of Artists.

Alla Shelimova has created lots of stage sets and costumes for numerous performances in Russia and abroad. Among them “Contract for Pulcinella with the orchestra" at the Moscow Chamber Opera Theater named after Boris Pokrovsky, “Tartuffe" at Ulyanovsk Young Generation Theater, “Sobeide" at the Musical Theater of the Republic of Karelia, “Magic Flute" at the Theater Center “Na Strastnom", “The Fairy Queen" at the Tchaikovsky Concert hall, “Fortunetelling using Mozart" at the Cultural Center “DOM", “Mein Kampf" at the Russian Drama Theater of Lithuania, for the unperformed play “Red Dominoes" at Moscow Academic Mayakovsky Theater, opera project “ABCD", “God may be around", “Life is a Dream" at the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute.

Besides working as a scenic designer Shelimova is engaged in interior design. Among her works is, for example, V.Polunin's café-club at the Moscow State Variety Theater and the “Academy of Fools". She participated in the Winter theater festival in St. Petersburg, has done wall painting for various organizations and private houses and also window dressing, was awarded a diploma for developing a light installation for a library. For several years the artist worked as a costume designer at “Compagnie du Hasard" theater in Verdun, in Corsica and Blois, France and took part in the theater festival “Le voyage des comédiens". There she cooperated with the scenic designer Antoine Fontaine, and in Moscow participated in the master class of the American art of illusion specialist John Agnew.

At present Alla Shelimova lives and works in Moscow, collaborates with Moscow publishing houses, does graphic works, photography, decorative and applied arts, including luminous objects, and is involved in teaching. She regularly takes part in art and graphics exhibitions in Russia, at Galerie-Edition in Paris, in Konstantz and Freitag in Germany, and is a permanent participant of the “End of Season" exhibition in Moscow. The artist's works are presented in private collections in Russia and abroad.
