Sokolov Petr

Petr Sokolov was born in Moscow in 1982. In 2001 he graduated from Moscow art college of applied arts (now called Design and decorative art college named after S. G. Stroganov) qualified as a rug maker. Further on from 2002 to 2008 the artist studied at Moscow State Academic Institute named after V. I. Surikov majoring in Arts, and qualified as an easel painting artist.

Since 1995 Petr Sokolov has been taking part in exhibitions: the Sokolovs’ family exhibition, youth and topical exhibitions both in Russia ("Still Life", "Province"), and abroad (Germany, Denmark).

Petr Sokolov’s art is quite versatile. He turns to industrial urban landscapes and conceptual themes, he is interested in the life of a modern man in metropolis. On the other hand, he is also keen on still life and traditional landscapes. The artist’s creative methods are based on classic art, however, Sokolov is no stranger to contemporary trends such as, for example, the art of "graffiti".

Petr Sokolov’s artworks are presented in private collections both in Russia and abroad.
