Stekolschikov Anton

Anton Stekolschikov was born in 1967 in Moscow in the family of famous artists Vyacheslav Stekolschikov and Mlada Finogenova. His early years passed in Verkhnyaya Maslovka, in this well-known "city of painters" where he could mix with such outstanding masters as Arkady Plastov, Georgy Nissky, Fedor Reshetnikov and others. From 1978 to 1985 Anton Stekolschikov went to Moscow secondary art school attached to Surikov Institute, which used to be the home to many acknowledged painters. In 1985 Stekolschikov entered Moscow State Institute named after V. I. Surikov, however, he had to leave it to serve in the army after two months. Having served for two years, Stekolschikov realized that he wanted to be a real artist and he returned to the institute to study under the guidance of Ilya Glazunov. In 1993 Anton Stekolschikov graduated with honors and his diploma artwork was called "Christening in the Returned Temple". The same year he became a member of the Moscow Regional Union of Artists. In 1997 Anton Stekolschikov together with his father Vyacheslav Stekolschikov became the winner in the contest to paint the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. Their canvas "Pantokrator on the Throne" is on display at the Cathedral's museum.

The artist's main direction is landscape and genre scenes, he is also keen on the subject of Russia's and Russian orthodox church renaissance. One of his favorite places is Borisogleb and its peaceful views. A lot of splendid artworks have been created in this cozy provincial Russian town.

Since 1985 Stekolschikov has been a permanent member of Moscow, all-Russian and foreign exhibitions. A large family exhibition "Borisogleb Chronicles" should be noted, which took place in the halls of Novy Manezh in March 2004, as well as his personal show "Reflection" in 2017. Another personal exhibition of the painter took place in Moscow in 2017. The works of the artist are presented at the museums and private collections both in Russia and abroad.
