Vorobieva Nadezhda

Nadezhda Dmitrievna Vorobieva was born in Moscow in 1924. In 1939 entered art school where she studied in the classes of the famous Russian artist Josef Gurvich and Vassily Pochitalov.

In 1941 when the war broke out the school was evacuated to Bashkortostan to the Voskresenskoye village. The school returned to Moscow in 1943, and Nadezhda Vorobieva graduated from the school. After the war, in 1945 Vorobieva entered the Moscow State Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov where she studied under well-known artists and art teachers Ivan Chekmazov, Vera Favorskaya, Dmitry Mochalsky and Konstantin Maksimov.

The artistic preferences of the young artist made their presence be known in her diploma work Labor Reserves which was dedicated to the students and apprentices of a technical college. The painting was done under the supervision of the famed artist Georgy Ryazhsky. In 1950 Vorobieva graduated from the institute. After graduating she worked on a thematic painting for the Tadjikistan pavilion at the National Agricultural Exhibition (VDNKh). From 1952 she worked for the Moscow Department of the Art Fund of the USSR.

From 1953 she has been a regular participant of regional, republican, zonal, national and Moscow exhibitions. In 1960 she became a member of the Moscow Department of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1984 Vorobieva was awarded with a diploma by the Moscow city organization of the Art Fund of the USSR. In 1988 she was awarded with honorary diploma by the Moscow department of the Soviet Peace Fund and a prize at the “Spring salon" exhibition. In 2004 her first personal exhibition was held at the Museum of D.V. Polenov.

Artworks by Nadezhda Vorobieva are represented in the collections of Podolsk Fine Arts Museum, Belgorod State Art Museum, in private collections in Russia, Europe, Japan, United States and other countries.
