On March 17th Schusev State Museum of Architecture is opening the exhibition dedicated to the metropolitan subway system "Moscow metro – the underground architectural monument" at the following address: 5/25 Vozdvizhenka.
The purpose of the exhibition is not only to tell the history of its creation, the development of its branches in the order of their construction but also to uncover the future plans and to attract the attention to the stations themselves and to the pavilions of the Moscow metro as the architectural and artistic monuments and the objects of Russia’s artistic legacy.

A lot of unique historical photos will be presented at the exhibition in addition to over two hundred sheets depicting both implemented and contested drafts of the stations. Among other things they will also put on display the landmark projects of such architects as А. V. Schusev ("Komsomolskaya" the Circle Line), А. N. Dushkin ("Mayakovskaya"), N.Y. Kolli ("Chistiye Prudy"), I. G. Taranov and N. А. Bykova ("Novokuznetskaya"), D. N. Chechulin ("Komsomolskaya" Sokolnicheskaya Line), I. А. Fomin ("Teatralnaya"), B. M. Iofan ("Baumanskaya") and many others.
The exhibition will relate the stories and interesting episodes connected with the construction of the branches and pavilions as well as the key moments from the life of the architects, artists and engineers of the Moscow Metro. An educational program is also scheduled within the frame of the exhibition, including lectures, discussions and film shows.
